Keeping Life NEW in Challenging Times
NEW Baby On July 3rd we welcomed sweet baby Luca. He was born at 7 lbs. 7 oz. He and his mama are both adjusting well, he's nursing like a champ and making each and every one of us smile.
NEW House Director We are thrilled to welcome Laura Fassinger and her two beautiful children. Laura is the new house director at our original home. Her life experiences make her uniquely suited to not only oversee the house but to build relationships with our girls and model appropriate parenting skills. Welcome Laura!
NEW Play Yard We now have little ones at both of our homes, so we needed a safe outdoor space for our toddlers to play. This corner of our yard transformed into the perfect soft, shady place to climb and explore the great outdoors. We are constantly stressing the importance of outdoor play for even our tiniest residents and an inviting space makes it easier for our mamas to get them out.
NEW Community Partnership
We are excited to be working with the Core Transition Age Youth HEAP Partnership with WPL, GSJTA and AMI Housing. This pilot program offers housing assistance for TAY ages 18-24 who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.
Spread the Word
We have an opening
Blossom has an opening for a youth interested in support as she learns independent living skills in a safe environment that encourages her to take risks, reach for her dreams and be her best self. At-risk young women under age 24 who are pregnant or parenting are also welcome. To find out more call or text 530-613-2822. We'd love to answer any questions about our program.
Blossom is currently looking for 2-3 additional board members who are able to help us increase our visibility and our donor base. Fundraising during this season is a challenge and we need someone involved in the community, with a heart for our girls, who can help us navigate this. Email [email protected] if you're interested in learning more.

Learning Through Lockdown
Cooking New Things We enjoyed this delicious lemon cake with homemade candied lemon slices for our Mother's Day celebration.
Executive Functioning Skills From time management and goal setting, to task completion and staying focused. Our girls each did an evaluation to see what they needed to work on before jumping into this workbook to increase their chances of success with what they call "adulting."
Parenting During this down time we doubled our encouragement for our mamas to be in the moment and truly play with their children. To offer them new opportunities for play and learning. And to focus on consistency and healthy routines. It's been fun to watch them enjoy their little ones.
Making Memories Many of our girls lack fond childhood memories. Our goal is not only to give them memories of their own but help them establish traditions and joyful memories for their children.
Practicing Self-Care
Instead of play group, meetings and workshops, you'll now find our meeting room alive with virtual Zumba and yoga classes. Looking forward to this continuing when our big group activities resume.
