Shelly Bokman, Founder & Executive Director
I'm Shelly Bokman, I have a Masters degree in Human Development. I opened my first preschool in 1979, and have worked in the early childhood education field all these years, I continue as co-owner of two preschool today. I was also co-founder and editor of Sacramento Parent Magazine for over 20 years. I have been a foster parent for the past 13 years. During that time, I saw the struggles young people went through when they aged-out of the system and learned of the frightening statistics including the vulnerability to human trafficking these youth faced. I want to make a difference in the outcomes for former foster and at-risk youth so I founded Blossom Place. Creating safe, comfortable homes and walking alongside young women as they transition to thriving adults is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy. |
Rachele Scott, Secretary
I'm Rachele Scott, a Senior Financial Analyst with more than 15 years of experience working alongside leaders from a Fortune 200 transportation company, and an independent business owner. I hold a bachelors degree in Business Finance from Jackson State University and an MBA from Bellevue University with an emphasis in HR and MIS.
I continually challenge myself whether it be completing a half marathon, starting a business, or becoming a foster parent to teenaged girls. My passion for helping others is represented in every area of my life especially serving those less fortunate. I continually live by an honest, fair, and faith based creed to treat others the way God treats them, with love. |
Christina Wilson, Treasurer
My name is Christina Wilson, and I am a long-term resident of Roseville, with a hubby of 31 years, two adult kids, and two fun pups! I have a degree in Economics from UC Davis, and my husband and I recently sold our successful construction business to enjoy semi-retirement. I began my volunteer "career" when my kids were small by volunteering with one of the wish coordinators and as an event chair for Make a Wish of Sacramento. I quickly learned how important and rewarding volunteerism can be! While my kids were in school, I volunteered in their classrooms and was room mom for both; chaired the school's semi-annual book fair; taught several years as art docent; volunteered as a reading and math mentor; was team mom for my son's basketball and lacrosse teams; and was my daughter's girl scout leader for 12 years. Along with my recent appointment to treasurer of Blossom Place, I am the president of the Friends of CASA of Placer County and I serve on the board of the Soroptimist of American River club. Fundraising for women and kids is my strength and passion, and I look forward to serving on the board of Blossom along with our team of wonderful, dedicated board members!

My passions include Jesus, coffee, hot yoga, coffee, bubble baths, sunshine, lipgloss and coffee. Another great love and passion is holistic health. With a Bachelors in Dietetics and Food Science, Masters in Healthcare as well as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner I help people bridge the gap between mainstream medicine and holistic healing. Lynda Meeker, Board Member
I'm Lynda Meeker. From the early days of Blossom Place, I've been a part of this wonderful journey, offering support and serving as a trusted confidant for my dear friend Shelly. I have had the honor of raising four children while also being able to take part in the lives of a handful of foster children. Additionally, I spent several years dedicated to working with teenagers through a vibrant concert and coffee house venue that I co-founded. These cherished moments allowed me to connect with young minds through the universal language of music and art. Currently I am working in an optometry office as a patient service rep and enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and learn new things. |
