volunteer opportunities
* Transportation. We always have a couple of girls who do not have transportation. They need help getting to work and appointments. We've found driving is always a good way to just chat and get to know the girls, and often gives us an opportunity to offer encouragement or other input for them.
* Events Team. We have two fundraising events each year. We would like to build an event team to help with details. It could be anything from rounding up raffle prizes, to creating decorations or set-up the day of the event. One is our annual poker tournament that's held at the Blue Goose in Loomis, and the other is an art and wine event, all the art is created by former foster youth. So if someone likes parties or entertaining this will be fun.
* Child Care. The girls at our family house need child care to participate in our weekly workshops and gatherings, and for job interviews, a doctor appointment of their own or just to go to a movie with friends and have a break. We are looking for two consistent people to come to the house and watch kiddos for a couple hours each week. If you love little ones this is for you!
* Mentors. And lastly, we are looking for more mentors for our girls. Ideally, we want each girl to have her own special someone who connects and builds a relationship with her. This is more of a time commitment than the other options. Our mentor guidelines which explains this better is below.
